The Westminster office of Garton Jones was first located in a serviced office on Greycoat Place, SW1 and opened it’s doors in April 2006. Kieran, coming from a purely sales background, was forced to do lettings as well, with the support of Miranda Garton Jones from the Chelsea Bridge Wharf office, to help generate the extra business and allow the company to grow. And grow it did.

Initially working from a hot desk in a shared office, Garton Jones Westminster quickly started to expand and it didn’t take long before Kieran took over his own “cupboard” as it was affectionately known. Initially there was administrative support but this was quickly followed by the experienced sales team who are still with Kieran to this day.

As the team quickly grew it allowed Kieran to concentrate on building the business and generate new sales and lettings instructions. The Garton Jones brand very quickly took the Westminster market and also the riverside market in SE1 by storm. Our presence was truly felt by the opening of our flagship offices at 49 Marsham Street, SW1 on the 1st September 2008. As this was the height of the so-called downturn in the sales market and when the credit crunch first started having an impact, many people thought we were mad and couldn’t believe an estate agent of all things, was opening a shop at this time. Fortunately the ground work had firmly been cemented in our first two years of operating in the area and we had made a significant enough impact on the Central London market for anything to get in our way. As far as Garton Jones were concerned it was business as usual and we like nothing better than a challenge.

This was clearly the biggest challenge we had faced and would probably ever face. Our double fronted offices benefit from having some of the biggest window space in Westminster which is great for marketing the diverse range of residential sales and rental properties we constantly have available. Rightmove.co.uk, the largest property web portal in the UK regularly report Garton Jones as the number 1 agent out of 200 operating in the area in terms of the amount of new instructions we get.

This consistent performance month after month, year after year is why we have become the agent of choice and why we have not only brushed the credit crunch aside but have recently set up Garton Jones St James Park and why we also have other offices in the pipeline, on both sides of the River Thames.
